Senior Field Applications Engineer

The Sr. Field Applications Engineer’s primary focus is to ensure our customers’ success with Voci speech recognition products. A successful candidate will be capable of installing the system on the customer’s site, working with the customer to ensure the system integration into their analytics environment meets their expectations, and assisting the customer in becoming proficient and productive in the use of the powerful capabilities of the Voci speech recognition appliance. The Sr. Field Applications Engineer will become the customer advocate, taking on the role of the conduit between the customer and our engineering and marketing teams to ensure that Voci can respond quickly to customer and market input. The highest degree of professionalism and customer commitment combined with technical competence are characteristics we seek. Travel will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales in evaluating fit of Voci speech recognizer with customer requirements
  • Work closely with prospects to understand needs and communicate these to the engineering team
  • Refine and manage processes for managing flow of information between company and customers around technical and support issues
  • Communicate technical progress to customers and customer issues to the Voci engineering team and management, develop workarounds where possible
  • Install speech recognition products at customer sites and provide onsite support
  • Support customer integration efforts
  • Develop close and collaborative relationship with customer so they see you as their contact point into Voci
  • Deliver training in the use of the V-Blaze™ API to accelerate customer productivity
  • Support development of documentation and training material
  • Work with technical team to support testing and QA efforts

Qualifications

  • 10 years or more of customer support or applications engineering in software and hardware
  • High energy and committed to the success of the company through making customers successful
  • Ability to perform the role of conduit between Voci and customer to ensure streamlined bi-directional communication
  • Strong programming and debugging skills, speech technology experience preferred

Hardware Engineer

As a Voci Hardware Engineer, you will be working under the guidance of Senior Hardware Engineers to implement specific algorithms in C and Verilog, and to design and execute test plans. Experience in writing in Verilog and implementing designs on Xilinx FPGAs is required. A successful candidate must have solid technical skills to design, simulate and debug designs. Experience or the ability to quickly learn new concepts in the fields of speech recognition and language learning is essential. You must also be able to work individually and in teams, and have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze algorithms implemented in software and convert them to hardware designs on FPGAs
  • Design and run tests to validate individual units and complete design
  • Develop regression methodologies and scripts

Qualifications

  • BS in electrical engineering or computer engineering, MS preferred
  • Solid Verilog skill set, Xilinx FPGA experience
  • Proficient at using Mentor Modelsim, Xilinx ISE, experience with Xilinx EDK a plus
  • Programming skills with high-level languages (C/C++) and scripting languages (Python, Shell)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn

Senior Software Engineer

Support, improve and expand our ultra high performance, high density hardware-accelerated speech recognition server. Responsibilities range from interfacing to the hardware, to streamlining the flow of data to developing new client-side features.

Qualifications

Software Engineer

Develop client-side applications that display the features of our hardware-accelerated speech recognition server. Projects will range from designing and developing compelling demonstration consoles to designing and implementing high performance, customer-specific applications.

Senior Hardware Design Engineer

The role of a Sr. Hardware Design Engineer is to define, develop, and deliver cutting-edge hardware for next generation Voci speech recognition products. The candidate would have extensive experience developing complex, high performance, application-specific designs with FPGAs and/or ASICs. An ideal candidate would be extremely knowledgeable with Xilinx tools and different memory technologies, such as BRAM and DDR2 DRAM. The candidate must be comfortable developing software models to prototype and profile hardware architectures. Familiarity of speech recognition is desirable. The candidate should have exceptional leadership qualities and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and develop new FPGA architectures for state-of-the-art speech recognition algorithms
  • Design, simulate, synthesize, and verify RTL code for FPGA use
  • Performance analysis (speed, timing, and area) of designs on FPGA
  • Software and hardware test and tool development for more efficient design

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years or more of experience in Verilog, Xilinx FPGAs, and digital design
  • General knowledge of FPGA design process, computer architecture, and design verification tools
  • Hands-on commercial design experience developing and deploying FPGA-based products
  • Experience in hardware prototyping, bring-up, and debugging of FPGA applications
  • Experience developing high performance chip architectures desirable

Hardware Verification Engineer

The Hardware Verification Engineer’s primary focus is plan, develop, deploy, and support the hardware testing process of next generation Voci speech recognition products. A successful candidate should have good working knowledge of large, high-speed FPGA chip design and have experience with Xilinx design and verification flow. The candidate should have a strong software-centric verification background and experience developing in Verilog/C/C++. Understanding of speech recognition is a plus. The candidate should have both excellent communication and team work skills.

Responsibilities

  • Defining comprehensive formal verification test plans
  • Writing and executing RTL verification plans
  • Implementing and maintain Verilog/C/C++ testbenches and verification environments
  • Assisting designs with application of functional formal verification

Qualifications

Senior Speech Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical leadership in research projects as well as contribute individually
  • Provide experimental and theoretical analysis of speech recognition problems
  • Formulate new algorithms, create research tools, design and carry out experiments to verify new algorithms
  • Innovate to improve accuracy of our speech recognition appliance
  • Work with hardware team members to introduce new product features into our hardware-accelerated architecture
  • Work with modeling team members to build and deliver production grade acoustic models

Qualifications

Senior Speech Engineer

  • Develop and evaluate discriminative model training techniques, including MMIE and MPE.
  • Develop and optimize unsupervised multi-pass acoustic model adaptation
  • Build acoustic models for English and non-English languages to meet product accuracy and speed requirements
  • Develop methods for analyzing recognition errors related to pronunciations, language models, acoustic models, or noise compensation
  • Address language specific issues for different languages to optimize acoustic modeling strategy, including automation of lexicon development
  • Improve training and testing environment to increase the efficiency of the model development process
  • Document model development process and ensure reproducibility of delivered models

Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or language technologies
  • Proven ability to innovate in the area of acoustic modeling
  • Proven ability to translate research ideas into production level software
  • Proficiency in Linux environment and bash programming
  • 5+ years of experience in C/C++ and Python programming
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and interact with a small team
